Show 2011 on the 10th of December 2010 in Riga! Location – Nordic Gymasium of Riga, Paula Lejina street 12.
How to get there:
Bus Nr. 4z, 8, 27, 44, 46, 53, stop „Priedaines iela” or train, stop „Zolitude”.
There is a convenient parking for personal vehicles.
International team of judges is invited:
1. Sara Edsler - breeder, owner of ferrety „Starshine Ferrets”, Sweden.
2. Heleri Haiba – breeder, owner of ferrety „Valgetuhkur”, chairman of Estonian ferret club „Eesti Tuhkrute Liit”, Estonia
3. Yasmin J. Puzmanova –breeder, owner of ferrety „Yasmin´s ferrets”, Czech Republic.
The show hall will be open from 8:00 a.m. The judging will start at 10:00 a.m.
Veterinary control:
Before the show all ferrets have to undergo the veterinary control check.
All ferrets have to have a pet certificate of vaccination (passport) with valid vaccinations against canine distemper and rabies. Vaccinations have to be made not later that 30 days before the show and not earlier than one year before the show. It is necessary to have a mark for deworming and treatment against external parasites (fleas, ear mites) in the passport as well, which is made not more than 3 days before the show. Please, check the expiry dates of all the vaccinations of your pet!
Your ferret has to have clean ears and trimmed nails.
All ferrets are allowed to take part in "Latvian Winter Ferret Show 2010" irrespective of pedigree, origin and other criteria.
We will be happy to see your ferret on our show, but the following restrictions apply:
1. Ferrets younger than 3 months.
2. Ferrets that don’t have necessary vaccinations or document, which proves its existence and expiration dates.
3. Ferrets that recently have suffered from infections or gastric diseases. This measure is necessary, since even if it seems that everything is fine from the outside, your ferret may still carry the virus and be dangerous to other ferrets.
4. Pregnant and feeding females
Registration for the show starts at 8:00 a.m.
The registration will be open for 2 hours. At the registration you will be given the registration number, the show catalogue, where all the participating ferrets will be listed
and classified (males and females separately), information about the sponsors, as well as a small gift. You need to place the registration number on the cage or the transportation cage of your ferret.
Judging:
Evaluation starts at 10:00 a.m. Judging is completely anonymous.
The judges will be given only the basic information about the ferret: date of birth, color, gender. Breeder’s (club’s) prefix, as well as ferret’s name, owner’s name, place of residence will not be given.
Stewards will pass the ferrets to the judges. During the evaluation it is prohibited to the owner to talk to the judge or to argue with the judge. If the owner fails to comply with this requirement, the ferret will be disqualified. Other reasons for disqualification are aggressive behavior and biting the expert. The decision, whether to continue the evaluation, is taken by the judge individually.
Lunch break from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. Evaluation continues after the lunch break.
6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Winners Award Ceremony
Ferrets evaluation is performed in the following classes:
• kits – 4-6 months old ferrets
• juniors – 6-12 months old ferrets
• intact ferrets – 1-5 years old un-neutered ferrets
• companions – neutered ferrets older than 1 year
• veterans –5+ years old ferrets
Correction of classes is possible, if there are less than 5 ferrets in one class.

Is it possible to bring the ferret without its participation in the show?
Yes, it is allowed. The ferret has to undergo the vet control. Requirements are the same as for participating ferrets.

if payment is made till the 30th of July, 2011:
- LVL 13 /EUR 18,50 for the first ferret; LVL 12 / EUR 17/ for the second ferret, LVL 10 / LVL 14 for each next ferret
if payment is made till the 31st of October, 2011:
- LVL 14 / EUR 20, LVL 13 / EUR 18,50, LVL 11 / EUR 15,50
if payment is made till the 1st of December, 2011:
- LVL 16 / EUR 22,50, LVL 15 / EUR 21,50 , LVL 14 / EUR 20
For all participants hot dinner option is available, if requested in advance. Price: EUR 4.

You will receive the confirmation on your email. Confirmation will be sent after the payment is received.
Cancellation of participation:
You can cancel your participation not later than one month before the date of the show. The 15% of the paid fee will be withheld. If you cancel the participation after the 10th of November 2010, no refund is available.
Requests for participation have to be submitted till the 1st of December, 2011. In case of a large number of participants, the show organizers reserve the right to close the registration of new participants before the defined deadline!
Compliance with basic rules for participating in the show will keep you and your pet safe:
1. Don’t let your ferret to contact with unfamiliar ferrets, don’t place your ferret in other ferret’s cage, even if the cage is not occupied. Do not let your ferret sniff other ferrets’ urine and excrements, since as stated above, even a healthy-looking ferret can be a disease-carrier, or the disease can be in incubation period. Some ferrets can be aggressive towards other ferrets; they can fight and injure each other.
2. Don’t touch any ferret without the permision of the owner. If you take an unfamiliar ferret in your hands, do not press it to your clothes. Before taking your own or any other ferret, disinfect your hands.
3. It’s advised not to let unfamiliar people touch your ferret.
4. Make sure that your ferret’s cage is properly closed and is not placed too close to other cages.
5. Do not leave your ferret in a cage unattended. If you need to leave, ask somebody to look after your ferret.
What to take to the show:
1. Bedding – hammock, pet bed or other.
2. Litter pan.
3. Bowl.
4. Food.
5. Water bottle
6. Paper towels (disinfection handkerchiefs).
Goods for ferrets will be sold on the show as well.
Not far from the show location there are a budget hotel, which accept pets - Hotel ABC and a hostel in the center of Riga, where pets are allowed.
